27th Annual Tulsa Shoot Out In History Books
Tulsa Expo Raceway breaking a world record entry count for Micro and Mini Sprints, Rookie this year Dahne Lynn McKay drove her PACE into victory lane! The first female to top a Micro championship feature event in Tulsa Shoot Out history. PACE Chassis made history besting every 600 Wing Class at this prestigious event.
As our chassis continues to increase in numbers across the country so does PACE attendance at the Shoot Out, 21 PACE Chassis entered this year! It was a pleasure having so many race teams in California and Indiana work together to travel and compete this year, we knew if this season was any indication PACE Chassis would leave undeniable impression this year.
Restricted (79 cars) 4 PACE Chassis
In the Restricted class Cory Elliott, Alex Coronado and entering for the first time Giovanni Scelzi and Dahne Lynn McKay. Three won Heat races Dahne Lynn McKay collecting the most points winning her heat from the last starting spot. Qualifiers Alex Coronado won over Mckay finishing a close second, as Scelzi took a win with ease over the field in his qualifier.
Dahne Lynn McKay went into the record books as the first female in Shoot Out history to win the golden driller, Cory Elliott starting sixth was the only threat to McKay, after battling two lapped cars Elliott was on the chase having to settle for second, Giovanni Scelzi moved through the field to finish 7th, Alex Coronado finishing out the top ten! Impressive!
Four PACE Chassis entered, 4 in the top ten!
Stock A-Class Non-Wing (176 cars)
Stock Non-Wing saw the largest car count Tristan Guardino up against 176 entries won his heat race and finished fourth in the qualifier, Guardino drove a perfact B-main leading from start to finish, 4th in the last chance qualifier to the main event placed Guardino in the 20th position. Guardino wasted little time in the 25-lap feature, wheeling his PACE to an 11th place finish.
Stock A-Class Wing (153 cars)
In the stock wing class Mitchell Faccinto, Tristan Guardino and Austin Stone all took heat wins. Photo finish in the qualifier as Mitchell Faccinto took the win over Tristan Guardino by a bumper. Austin Stone took control over the B-Main and finished 6th in the last chance, Mitchell Faccinto driving the Gordon Seros Racing Engines PACE, was high point out of 153 cars going into the main event, The number 11 Seros powerhouse went on to win the golden driller and first time at the Shoot Out Tristan Guardino finishing 5th, Austin Stone wheeled the PACE house car from 20th to 13th.
Outlaw Non Wing (142 cars)
Two young guns Austin Stone and Dominic Scelzi were up to a challenge. Stone taking a heat race win and finishing second in the qualifier set him 8th in points, Dominic Scelzi wins B-Main and takes the last starting spot for the main. Now it was main event time as Stone spun in traffic and had to tag the back of the field. Seclzi took an mechanical exit, the 2012 PACE Chassis finishes 17th over 142 cars first time out.
Outlaw Wing Class (141 cars)
Now for the Outlaw open class Heath Duinkerken, Michael Faccinto, Mitchell Faccinto,
and Dominic Scelzi set the stage early taking heat race wins. Austin Stone, Mitchell Faccinto and Heath Duinkerken won 3 of 5 qualifiers! B and C mains were won by Dylan Black and Dominic Scelzi. Scelzi finished sixth in the last chance qualifying him for the main event. Seven out of 21 cars set for the Main event were Pace Chassis. Heath Duinkerken's 2012 lined up outside front row, Austin Stone ready to start his third main event of the evening, always fast Faccinto brothers shared the field with Dylan Black, Dominic Scelzi and Trent Carter. As the main began Duinkerken took the high side and slipped back to second only to take his 2012 PACE powered by Seros Racing Engines through the slick passing the leader in lap 4, Duinkerken looked unstoppable, as lap traffic came into play the only contender was 9th starter Michael Faccinto, the number 79 Heath Duinkerken won the golden driller followed by Michael Faccinto, Austin Stone 9th, Dylan Black 11th, Mitchell Faccinto 14th, Trent Carter 17th Dominic Scelzi was 21th
PACE Chassis not only left an impression, our chassis left a blazing trail!
